[NEWS] CUSTOMS ON MURDER CASE
SEQUEL TO REPORTS ON SOCIAL MEDIA OVER THE DEATH OF THREE STUDENTS ALONG IDIROKO AREA OF OGUN STATE, BY OFFICERS OF THE NIGERIA CUSTOMS SERVICE, THE COMMAND HAS DEBUNKED THE REPORTS DESCRIBING IT AS UNFORTUNATE, WHERE ONE OF THE VICTIMS TWENY YEAR-OLD, OPEYEMI ODUSINA, A STUDENT DIED INSTANTLY WHILE THREE PEOPLE SUSTAINED VARIOUS DEGREES OF INJURIES.
IT WAS REPORTED THAT, CUSTOMS OFFICERS ATTACHED TO IDIROKO COMMAND DROVE RECKLESSLY WHILE PURSUING SMUGGLERS AND RAMMED INTO THE STUDENTS WHO WERE STANDING BY THE ROAD SIDE AFTER THEY HAD CLOSED FROM SCHOOL HOUR AND KILLED THEM.
BUT ADDRESSING NEWSMEN, THE CUSTOMS AREA CONTROLLER, OGUN COMMAND 1, MICHAEL AGBARA SAID THE TRAGEDY WAS PURELY AN ACCIDENT.
