[NEWS] OGUN STUDENTS DEMAND EMPLOYMENT
THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF OGUN STATE STUDENTS (NAOSS) HAS DEMANDED IMMEDIATE EMPLOYMENT FOR A FAMILY MEMBER OF THE SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENT WHO DIED IN AN ACCIDENT INVOLVING CUSTOMS OFFICERS ALONG IHUNBO/IDIROKO ROAD ON MONDAY.
IT WOULD BE RECALLED THAT A 20YEAR-OLD, OPEYEMI ODUSINA, WHO IS A STUDENT OF OJUMO COMMUNITY SECONDARY SCHOOL DIED IN AN ACCIDENT AFTER BEING KNOCKED DOWN BY OFFICERS OF NIGERIAN CUSTOMS SERVICE.
NAOSS AT A PRESS CONFERENCE IN ABEOKUTA, THE STATE CAPITAL ON WEDNESDAY ENJOINED THE OGUN STATE COMMAND OF THE NIGERIA CUSTOMS SERVICE TO MEET WITH THE FAMILY OF THE SLAIN SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENT, AS WELL AS PAY THE SUM OF 5 MILLION NAIRA AS DAMAGE WITHIN 14DAYS.
SPEAKING THROUGH ITS NATIONAL PRESIDENT, OGUNROMBI EMMANUEL SAID ONLY ONE PERSON WAS KILLED AND NOT THREE PEOPLE AS REPORTED IN SOME MEDIA.
OGUNROMBI ADDED THAT, AFTER A THOROUGH INVESTIGATION BY THE STUDENTS BODY, THE NIGERIA CUSTOMS SERVICE HAD PAID THE HOSPITAL BILLS OF THE TWO DISCHARGED INJURED VICTIMS.
